Behind VERA there are people, not a catalogue

My name is Virginia. I live in the countryside outside Florence and spend most of the year on the roads of Tuscany, knocking on doors that usually stay shut.

VERA started from something simple. Tuscany is one of the most visited regions in Italy and, at the same time, one of the least known. Thousands of people cross the same three roads every day, eat in the same restaurants, and go home convinced they have seen it. I want to build the exact opposite.

I don't organise tours: I build days. A day has a rhythm, some silences, and people inside it. When I take a family to a cellar in Chianti we are not buying a tasting — we are going to see someone real, who walks us through the vineyard first and opens the bottles afterwards.

I work across the whole region — from Chianti to the Val d'Orcia, from the Sienese hills down to the coast. Every grower, every cook, every craftsman you meet in these pages I have met myself, eaten at their table and watched at work. It is the only way I know to be able to recommend them honestly.

VERA is not an office with a catalogue of packages: it is a network of people chosen one by one, by going to meet them. Some open the cellar, some cook, some drive, some welcome you into their own home.

For you there is one number to call and one person who knows you. But the day you live is the work of many, and each of them brings the craft they know.

How we work

Never in a group

Every experience is private. There are no fixed departures and no people you didn't choose.

Few people, real ones

We only work with growers and craftsmen we know personally and have watched at work.

No rushing

We build days you can breathe in. If a lunch runs three hours, that's how it should be.

There until the end

We stay reachable throughout your stay. If something needs to change, we change it.
