The journeys
The time it takes to know a place
None of these is a closed package: they are ideas built around a season and a place. Take something out, add something, stretch it by a day. We find the final shape together, talking.
You sleep among the vines, in a family house. The first day belongs to the cellars and the people who work them; the second starts slowly, with a picnic where the view deserves one, and ends with the light coming down over the rows.

At eleven in the morning those hills are full of people; at seven in the evening they are empty. We build the days around that moment, and fill the rest with what the Val d'Orcia does best: pecorino, olive oil, gravel roads and silence.

Three days to cross the whole chain: the vineyard and the work it asks for, the cellar and the time it needs, and finally the part where the wine is actually composed. At the end you take home a bottle you made yourself.

Seven days allow what three do not: changing area without rushing, going back twice to the same place, having one day with no plan at all. It starts in the hills, passes through kitchens and workshops, and ends wherever we decide together.

Four days built as a real tasting course: different areas, different grapes, vintages set side by side. You taste with the people who make it and with the people who teach it, and at the end you blend your own wine knowing why.

A hive opened in front of their eyes, a calm horse to ride, clay turning on the wheel, a picnic with room to run. All of it designed to actually work with children, and so the parents enjoy the day too.

Two days given to people who work with their hands: clay on the wheel, flowers to arrange, pasta rolled with a mattarello. You get into workshops that don't usually open, and you stay long enough to actually learn something.

Between September and November Tuscany is another place entirely: the grapes come in, the olives are picked, dogs hunt truffles in the woods. Five days inside that work, hands included, eating what has just been gathered.

It begins inland, among vines and gravel roads, and comes down towards the coast, where the wine changes character and so does the light. The right journey for someone who has been to Tuscany already and thinks they have seen it.
